1. Controlling Nausea
Nausea can be a significant issue for cancer patients, especially those undergoing treatments. There are several thoughtful gifts that can help manage this discomfort.
Sea Sickness Bracelets: These bracelets apply pressure to specific points on the wrist and can help reduce nausea. This Anti Nausea Wrist Band has been FDA approved to help with nausea and it has the best reviews. You can also use the less expensive acupressure bands, but the review are not quite as good.
Ginger and Peppermint Products: Ginger and peppermint are known for their anti-nausea properties. Ginger candy, tea, or suckers, as well as peppermint essential oil or candies, can be very soothing. Ginger Essential Oil
Aromatherapy: Smelling certain scents like lemon, lavender, or peppermint roll-on can help alleviate nausea. Consider an essential oil diffuser with a selection of calming and anti-nausea scents. Candles can also be used, but can be dangerous if the patient is on oxygen.
Sour Candies: Sour candies can sometimes help with nausea by stimulating saliva and helping to neutralize stomach acids.
Herbal Inhaler - The receiver can keep handy and open and smell for instant relief
2. Comfort Items
No matter the treatment type, comfort is always important.
Blankets and Shawls: Soft, warm blankets or shawls can provide comfort during chilly moments. I personally like to give a blanket small enough to be taken to treatment. This is a great reason why shawls are also so great. It's like a blanky you can wear. But I think any cozy treatment is nice.
Shawl - You can go for dressy or comfy. Of course some are both. I've linked a super comfy blanket style shawl that I think is great to take to treatments.
Pillows: A small, soft pillow can be a great help for added comfort, whether they’re at home or in a treatment center.
Breast Pillow - After a mastectomy pillow.
Seat Belt Pillow - Breast Cancer Recovery Must Have
3. Personal Care Items
Helping them feel fresh and pampered can boost their mood.
Lip Balm and Moisturizer: Cancer treatments can cause dry skin and lips, so good-quality lip balm and moisturizer can be very soothing.
Gentle Skin Products: Fragrance-free and hypoallergenic lotions and soaps can help keep their skin feeling good without irritation.
4. Entertainment and Distractions
Keeping the mind busy can help pass the time and reduce anxiety.
Books and Magazines: Light reading materials, such as novels, magazines, or puzzle books, can provide a nice distraction.
Audiobooks and Music: An audiobook or a playlist of their favorite music can be a great way to relax.
Streaming Service Subscriptions: A subscription to a streaming service like Netflix or Hulu can offer endless hours of entertainment.
5. Nutritional Support
Eating well is important, but treatments can sometimes make it difficult.
Healthy Snacks: Nutrient-rich snacks like nuts, dried fruits, or protein bars can be a good source of energy.
Ginger Candy or Tea: Ginger can help with nausea, a common side effect of many cancer treatments.
6. Comfortable Clothing
Loose, soft clothing can make a big difference in comfort.
Soft Hats and Scarves: Many patients lose their hair during treatments, so soft hats and scarves can help keep their heads warm and make them feel more comfortable.
Cozy Socks or Slippers: Warm, fuzzy socks or slippers can keep their feet warm and cozy.

7. Crystals and Essential Oils
Some people find comfort and relief in holistic items like crystals and essential oils. I have to admit, I'm a big fan. Crystals can be worn, carried in a pocket, placed in a nearby area or placed under a pillow. Be sure to understand the properties of any crystals purchased and how to use them. For instance, although malachite is a healing stone, maybe it should be worn only in the day to permit the body to recover at night. Research crystals that compliment each other and those that should not be used together. For essential oils, I believe it is important to get high quality oils. I personally like Young Living, DoTerra, and Rocky Mountain Oils.
Essential Oil Diffuser: I find it helpful to use an essential oil diffuser with a timer to avoid any over exposure. These are recommended above candles because of the harsh chemicals some candles release, and when lit, they can pose a danger to a person who is on oxygen. (Click Here)
Crystals: These crystals are believed to promote physical, emotional, spiritual healing and balance.

Lavender Essential Oil: Lavender is known for its calming and relaxing properties. It can help reduce stress and promote sleep.
Peppermint Essential Oil: This can be helpful for nausea and can provide a refreshing scent. However, be careful if diffusing, this can be dangerous to pets.
8. Care Packages
Putting together a care package specifically for their needs can be very thoughtful.
Treatment Survival Kits: These can include items like water bottles, hand sanitizer, lip balm, snacks, and a cozy blanket.
Message In A Bottle - Inspirational notes.
Water Bottle - It's important for patients to stay well hydrated. I recently heard a doctor emphasize the importance. Some people just don't like water. I love water bottle with quotes or phrases. The You Got This cup is pretty and generic enough for any sex. But I also love Fight Like A Girl. For those who do not like water, it might be helpful to get an Infuser Bottle. Again, just know the recipients preference.
Comfy Socks
Lip Balm - Dry lips and mouth sores can happen with treatments. It's nice to be prepared for everything. Cream and lip balm SET. Lip Balm.
Skin Cream - Radiation can really affect the skin. A good skin cream can go a long way.
Juice - I personally love and got my mom this Passion Fruit Juice. She has a difficult time with water. I also like to freeze this juice into ice cube and add to my drinks. It tastes link infused water. I typically get this at Sprout, but it's also available at Amazon. Sprouts prices are better.
Snacks - Fruit and Crackers
Charger / Battery -
IPad / Tablet - IPads don't just keep kids entertained for hours, but electronics can keep adults busy for hours. Some treatments take more than 8 hours. That's a long time to sit around. I'm not a fan of refurbished, but they are available. IPad by far is the best rated and sems to be the best for work and for entertainment. Here is a link to a new IPAD. Tablet have also come a long way, but still lag behind as far as ratings go. Here is a link to a new TABLET.
Extension Cord - I like to be sure I provide power to any gift I buy, whether the gift needs batteries or an extension cord. I chose this one because it has a very flexible cord and multiple charging ports.
Premade Gift Basket - I love this idea because it is already beautifully prepared and can be sent directly to your friend or family member.
Activity Kits: Small, portable activities like coloring books, puzzles, or knitting supplies can help pass the time. Coloring has become a very common way for people to relax and meditate.
Coloring Books - There are so many great coloring books these days.
Swearing Coloring Book (Again, know your audience)
Lap Pads - There are different types of lap pad for different uses. For instance, I bought my mom an IPad pillow to prop up her IPad when she was sick. however that would not be useful for someone who wants to color.
Markers / Pens / Pencils
Activity Book - I did not choose one specific book but instead a link to activity books. Some are easier than others and definitely a matter of preference.
Knitting Kit - This is a beginner kit, you can also get supplies for the more experienced knitter.
Crochet - This has a variety of cute animals to crochet
Tote bag - This monogramed tote is classy, inexpensive, and well rated.
9. Emotional Support
Sometimes, the best gift is simply showing that you care.

Comfort Items: Similar to those undergoing treatment, soft blankets, pillows, and comfortable clothing are very thoughtful.
Books and Entertainment: Light reading materials, audiobooks, and subscriptions to streaming services can provide entertainment and relaxation.
Holistic Gifts: Crystals, essential oils, and other holistic items can offer emotional support and comfort.
scents.
Sour Candies: Sour candies can sometimes help with nausea by stimulating saliva and helping to neutralize stomach acids.
Remember, the most important thing is to show your support and let them know you are there for them. These gifts can help make a tough time a little bit easier and show that you care.
